Roots to Fruits Christian Curriculum
"Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think." -Albert Einstein

The Why
After months of visiting other schools and researching more about the Ugandan Education system, it was discovered that the system of education was strictly rote (memorization based on repetition) with the final goal being status on one test.
The Work
While adhering to the requirements of the Uganda National Curriculum, a Christ-centered curriculum has been developed to suit the methodology of building knowledge on knowledge to effectively teach critical thinking and comprehension skills for future learning, which develops a holistically educated child.
The Impact
Over 27 schools are using the Roots to Fruits curriculum and the results are astonishing. Teachers have testified to the fruit that has come through child-centered learning. "This curriculum goes above and beyond passing exams. Our students gain lifelong knowledge and skills that are applicable in their daily lives."
Village Learning Centers

The Why
Teen pregnancy, child marriage, alcoholism, abuse-all factors in a village without Christ and without quality education.
The Work
Similar to that of a one-room schoolhouse, our Village Learning Center (VLC) focuses on bringing education to children who would otherwise have no opportunity. The parents of the children provide the buildings, and we provide the education.
The Impact
Once rampant with alcoholism, the people of this area are now thriving as quality education and the love of Jesus have swept across the village. "My children are learning. I can see a positive change in them."
